Rain drops keep falling on my head....

This is a picture from East China's Jiangsu Province. The article reports that China's worst harsh winter havoc in five decades, will continue over the next few days. Nearly one million police have been dispatched to keep traffic in order on China's congested highways and bridges since heavy snow hit the country earlier this month. Below is a picture of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao talking to the stranded passengers at a railway station in China's Hunan Province.

The Chinese Ministry of Railways mobilized 35 extra trains on Sunday night to help disperse about 500,000 passengers who were stranded in Guangzhou, capital of the southern Guangdong Province, because of snow.

Millions of travelers are currently struggling to make their annual trip home as the Spring Festival, the most important Chinese holiday, is only nine days away.

Here, staff is cleaning snow on the Beijing-Zhuhai expressway in central China's Hunan Province, January 30th.

Guangzhou has set up simple facilities in a few venues such as big stadiums and conference and exhibition centers, to provide temporary shelter for stranded passengers.

"About 60,000 passengers have been relocated to these venues, and it is estimated 200,000 people will need to be accommodated when more passengers arrive in Guangzhou to take trains back home, " said Yu Desheng, a local transportation official.

Last night, Brian reported thay they did confirm their flight home yesterday, however we'll keep you updated, if anything changes....just keeps raining in GZ! Scheduled to depart February 1st at 11:55AM (9:55PM, January 31st, CST) from Guangzhou to Beijing. Then, Beijing to Chicago; finally arriving in Omaha at 9:56PM.
