We finally made it to Guangzhou last night. Now, we had a feeling the flight might be miserable, as Carli hates the elevator, the van, the stroller and the highchair! First off, our flight was delayed, so, we spent three "trying" hours in the airport attempting to entertain the girls. Finally, we took-off and 40 minutes into our 90 minute flight, the screaming began… Carli has a great set of lungs!
After arriving in Guangzhou, we met up with our new guide and another family of five. So, 1 driver, 2 dads, 2 moms, 5 children, 1 guide and bags galore, all pile into this van for our "joy ride" to the hotel. Well, you guessed it… the screaming and thrashing started all over again. Carli finally quieted down about 40 minutes into the trip, when she fell asleep. We sure felt sorry for the other passengers! AnLi hates the crying/screaming and just covers her face.
The Chinese phrase for "stop crying" is boo koo (sp?), so AnLi kept saying "cuckoo-cuckoo"! Carli is much happier today, thank goodness. It should be a fun flight home. ; O
We are getting ready to visit the Chen Clan Folk Art Museum & Guangzhou Zoo with other CHI families, so we’ll post pictures later.

A quick note from the messenger and her research team (Jeff)…
After searching for the correct spelling of “stop crying” in Mandarin, we’ve discovered that it’s actually “tíngzhǐ kūqì”. So, no wonder Carli kept crying! ; )
If you are interested in learning more about Carli’s native language, we've located a couple of websites that we found interesting.

I hope you all have a wonderful time in Guangzhou. Hopefully you can enjoy it this time around and not be as rushed as we were the last time! Carli will adjust to the traveling. It will be okay! Hang in there! Lily is excited to meet Anli's new sissy! Can't wait to hear more! We are loving all of the pictures! So glad that Carli is adjusting so well!

That sounds like some miserable traveling. Is your flight home at night? It would be great if Carli would sleep through most of it. Congratulations on getting to GZ though, it is one step closer.

so happy you are in GZ. Now the countdown starts to getting home. We will patiently wait to see those 2 little daughters of yours. Love Mom & Dad G
We have a Wanzhou girl too. :) We had a terrible time with screaming in the highchair and stroller too. She also cried in the vans in China. Although by the time we left Guangzhou for the airport, she was better about vehicles. We still don't have her in a highchair. We have switched to a booster seat, as we could not get the highchair issue resolved. This has worked for our family. The stroller she took to about a month after we came home. i used to put her in the stroller and push her around the neighborhood with Kelsey. I would rather her scream in the neighborhood than a shopping mall. eventually she decided it was ok. The plane ride home was ok, as long as I was holding her. We expected a hard time with the car seat on the way home from the airport. We have a DVD player in our SUV. Once she realized there was a tv, she was distracted. It seems my Wanzhou girl did not like being enclosed down into things like a highchair or stroller. It really makes you wonder about the lifestyles these poor little ones had before they came to their forever families. Big hugs to you! I know from experience that the crying can be difficult. Email me if you need anything.
