First of all, thank you to our many family and friends for all of your support throughout our adoptions. We couldn't have done it without all of you! Second, sorry for the really bad internet. It took over two hours to get those two photos out last night!
Brian decided to put his plan into action and go to the second floor for video. As soon as he got to the bank of elevators, "DING" and out walks Mae, Carli and Nanny Deng. Mae shooed Brian back to the room.
When they got to the door, AnLi started giving Carli every single thing we brought for her. AnLi was so excited! Carli just took it all in. And, yes, she's absolutely beautiful! She has the longest eyelashes ever. After a few minutes of just getting a good look at her and saying hello, Brian, AnLi and Carli sat on the floor and shared some Gerber Puffs, while I got a chance to ask Nanny Deng some questions, with the help of Mae interpreting for us. She said Carli was "an easy baby", and Mae thought she and AnLi would even each other out. You know, the yin and the yang. : )
The nanny made a bottle to show me how (yep, four bottles a day w/ rice formula mixed in) and then tried to give it to Carli. She pierced up her little lips and would have none of it! It was the funniest thing. She had decided the puffs were much tastier! The nanny gave her a hug and out the door they went. Carli didn't make a peep.
We stayed in and just played and watched Dora. We ordered room service. After several attempts, she got the hang of opening her mouth for a spoon. She loved the congee and just lit right up. She was shaking her head "yes" when she wanted more.
Everyone was pretty tired, so we decided I would put AnLi down first. We went into the bedroom and Carli came waddling in, crying. AnLi jumped out of bed saying, "It's all right, Carli. Don't cry. You have an owie?" and was giving her lots of kisses and hugs. So sweet!!! After she saw where we were, she went back out and laid on the floor with Brian. I got AnLi down and went out about five minutes later and there they were, Brian and Carli, fast asleep, even with Brian's snoring in her ear! : )
We got everyone to the respective beds and she's still out. She did wake around midnight and played with her play cell phone. She fell asleep with it in her hands and seemed to be singing a bit. She went right back down and is still sleeping.
We are blessed beyond belief to be the parents to two amazing little girls! They are very brave little souls, who are eager to love and trust again, and we will be there to love and trust...forever!

Hi Kayla and family. Carli sounds SO MUCH like Nora! She has "impossibly long eyelashes" as someone said to us today. And she loves, loves, loves her cell phone. And loves congee, and gave up her bottle almost instantly. They are brave, brave girls, aren't they?
