First glimpses...

These are the first pictures we saw of Carli, Wan Wen Yu, on our agency's waiting child list. We fell in love instantly! We immediatley requested her file, along with several other families. We had to petition for her, basically writing a letter stating why we should be chosen to be her new family. We were so shocked and grateful that we were chosen!

Then the paperchase began. I spent months getting documents together, notarized, driving to Lincoln to get things authenticated. And then...I LOST them! All of them! I had faxed them to our agency and I've never seen them again. Hysteria set in! All that time and energy...poof! We had to start all over...I should say, "I" had to start all over. I had to call everybody and have them resend originals of forms they had filled out, more background checks, new medicals, more notarizing, another trip to Lincoln for authenticating. I was able to get it all done AGAIN one day before our I-171H came from the US/CIS. Then everything was sent to the courier in D.C. and on to Utah, where it was all translated and sent to China 9/13, then the wait began!
