Carli had surgery to place ear tubes and release the tongue tie on Tuesday. The frenulum (the tongue tie) was thicker than they thought, so they had to give her an IV to cauterize it and place a few stitches. She slept most of the day and ate lots of popsicles and chocolate pudding, a first for her. On Wednesday I had to take AnLi to an appointment, and while we were gone, Carli "played" Nana for three more chocolate puddings. LOL! Lil' stinker! She has recovered remarkably well. Considering her first few years of life, we know she's a fighter and survivor.

We've ALREADY seen a difference! Number one, she talks much, much quieter. She can finally hear herself! She's also enunciating her words and we're understanding some things now. She used to say eye-eye for bye-bye, and that is now clear as a bell. Also today she said good-bye clearer than we said it! She was not too happy with us and was a little uncomfortable for a couple of days, but we know that it was just a small bump in the road as Carli can now start living life to the fullest! She starts occupational and speech therapy next week, and I'm sure her vocabulary is just going to blossom. She's an amazing little girl with a funny personality, and we're so proud to call her our daughter.

The Wiggles!

On Wednesday night we took the girls to The Wiggles. AnLi talked about it ALL day long. She even made Carli practice dancing before we left. :) They had a great time! After it was over, as we were pulling out of the parking lot, AnLi said, "Boy, that was some adventure."
Yes, it sure was. Where are we going? THE WIGGLES!We got there about 30 minutes early. We found our seats and thought we could go get some popcorn, but AnLi did not want to leave her seat until The Wiggles came out. After a bit of coaxing, we finally got her to go with us to get popcorn, but she wanted to get right back in there and sit and wait. I've never seen her sit so still. :)

Is it starting yet?
What's going on here?

I think she was in shock.
I didn't get my camera out in time, but Jeff, AnLi's favorite Wiggle, was right behind us singing, about one foot away from her.
Carli loved the music and especially the dancing in the aisles!
Dancing Queens!

About the last 30-40 minutes, Carli started getting bored and tired, and had more fun playing with Brian's hat. LOL!

Playset Day!

We got our playset delivered and assembled today. When AnLi got home from preschool, she ran to the backyard and yelled, "Oh, my gosh!" over and over and over again. She was so excited! She and Carli had a great time playing on and around it. Hopefully they'll enjoy this for many years to come!

Taking a Walk

AnLi teaching Carli how to eat a popsicle after our walk.

The Zoo

We finally had a nice day to go to the zoo. Carli had a great time! My attempt at getting them to both look at the camera at the same time.

Carli's first carousel ride. She was pretty quiet through the whole ride, but as soon as it stopped she started clapping and cheering. I think she liked it. :)
At the end of last year AnLi kind of started getting scared of the carousel. So this time she kept asking, "I'm having fun?" I kept reassuring her that, yes, this was fun!
The end to a long day...
