Carli had surgery to place ear tubes and release the tongue tie on Tuesday. The frenulum (the tongue tie) was thicker than they thought, so they had to give her an IV to cauterize it and place a few stitches. She slept most of the day and ate lots of popsicles and chocolate pudding, a first for her. On Wednesday I had to take AnLi to an appointment, and while we were gone, Carli "played" Nana for three more chocolate puddings. LOL! Lil' stinker! She has recovered remarkably well. Considering her first few years of life, we know she's a fighter and survivor.
We've ALREADY seen a difference! Number one, she talks much, much quieter. She can finally hear herself! She's also enunciating her words and we're understanding some things now. She used to say eye-eye for bye-bye, and that is now clear as a bell. Also today she said good-bye clearer than we said it! She was not too happy with us and was a little uncomfortable for a couple of days, but we know that it was just a small bump in the road as Carli can now start living life to the fullest! She starts occupational and speech therapy next week, and I'm sure her vocabulary is just going to blossom. She's an amazing little girl with a funny personality, and we're so proud to call her our daughter.

I think Carli needs a sqeeze from her aunty Kolene! What a brave little girl.
So glad things went well....give that girl another pudding!
uOh she's such a cutie pie! I'm glad her tongue is finally free. That will make a big difference in her speech, I'm sure.
