More swimming
We have really enjoyed the pool this year. The girls especially love when their friends come over to swim with them. Maize and Bo were over and the kids had a great time! AnLi and Maize laughed and giggled so much as they would roll off of the floaties.

My best attempt at a group shot. Didn't work out so well.
Carli and Bo swinging
Carli's swimming has come so far in such a short period of time! She started off with just getting her face wet. Then she moved on to what we dubbed "The Tsunami". She would kick her little legs and flap those arms around. Most of the water was ending up outside of the pool and creating huge waves. She'd come up, completely out of breath from all of that work, only to realize she went NOWHERE! She has slowed it down and is doing a great job swimming now, giving her sister some competition.
AnLi spends most of her time in the water doing "tricks," like sommersaults, handstands and diving for toys. We've been working with Carli on diving, and just the other day she swam down and picked up AnLi's goggles. We couldn't believe it. I think she's a natural!

This is how the girls look when it's 90 degrees outside, dressed to go into the frigid iceplex for skating lessons. AnLi picked out her own crazy outfit!
I never have a problem spotting her on the ice - always all pink!
Carli's new pose.
She plays with a couple of 5-year-old twins during skating. They color and play hide-and-seek and keep each other occupied.

After skating we usually have a picnic in the park.
You can really see AnLi's goggle tan marks in this picture!

Happy Father's Day
The girls and Brian spent the weekend in the pool. He loved his coffee mugs they painted for him. Of course, AnLi told him we had done it. She can't keep a secret. :) I worked most of Sunday, so Brian made he and the girls a big breakfast and then they were in the pool the rest of
the day.

The big news was Saturday he had taught Carli how to go under water. It was a BIG milestone! We've been working on her holding her breath, making big cheeks, for quite a while, but putting her face in the water was something she wanted no part of. She was so proud of herself. She kept saying, "I go under sea!" I think she said that 100 times between Saturday and Sunday. She was SOOOO excited! She'd take a big breath and go under, come up and just laugh and laugh. She and AnLi had a great time going under and looking at each other. AnLi kept trying to get her to put her feet behind her to swim, but just getting her face in the water was as far as she wanted to go for now. I think by the end of summer we'll have another little mermaid.

Happy Father's Day to all of the great dads out there!

Summer is finally here!
Finally, the pool has warmed up where the girls can play in it and not come out with blue lips. :) We've been taking advantage of the spray park, but I think everyone in town has discovered our little neighborhood getaway. It's always so packed that it's hard to keep an eye on the girls. The girls don't like it much because it's hard to even get wet as everyone fights for a fountain. We'll just stay in our own backyard. The one thing about spending the day swimming - the girls are in bed, ASLEEP before 7p every night. AHHH... It completely wears them out!
Hope everyone is enjoying their summer!
When we got home from the spray park, AnLi jumped into the pool, came out and yelled, "Now THIS is what I'm talkin' about!" LOL!
AnLi was having Carli say "abracadabra" before she would let her up the ladder. Stinker! Carli got it and then kept saying it ALL night.

Water, water everywhere!
The pool is up and cold! The girls still swim in it just about every day, coming out with blue lips and shivering. They warm up and then get back in. So there will be lots and lots of swim pictures this summer. :)
AnLi didn't think this day would ever come - filling the pool. She has asked for months when we were going to put up the "blue pool". She never stopped smiling and kept saying, "I LOVE THIS POOL!" the whole night it was filling.
The water park - Carli really didn't want to get wet, but soon would dip her foot in, then her finger, and finally wrapped a towel around her and went through the rainbow sprinkler. So funny!
