Fourth of July

We had a great weekend - good friends, family, fireworks and parade! The weather wasn't the greatest, but we made the most of it.

Waiting out of the mist for the parade to start

Dustin kept the girls quite entertained.
They love him!

Happy Father's Day

The girls and Brian spent the weekend in the pool. He loved his coffee mugs they painted for him. Of course, AnLi told him we had done it. She can't keep a secret. :) I worked most of Sunday, so Brian made he and the girls a big breakfast and then they were in the pool the rest of
the day.

The big news was Saturday he had taught Carli how to go under water. It was a BIG milestone! We've been working on her holding her breath, making big cheeks, for quite a while, but putting her face in the water was something she wanted no part of. She was so proud of herself. She kept saying, "I go under sea!" I think she said that 100 times between Saturday and Sunday. She was SOOOO excited! She'd take a big breath and go under, come up and just laugh and laugh. She and AnLi had a great time going under and looking at each other. AnLi kept trying to get her to put her feet behind her to swim, but just getting her face in the water was as far as she wanted to go for now. I think by the end of summer we'll have another little mermaid.

Summer is finally here!

Finally, the pool has warmed up where the girls can play in it and not come out with blue lips. :) We've been taking advantage of the spray park, but I think everyone in town has discovered our little neighborhood getaway. It's always so packed that it's hard to keep an eye on the girls. The girls don't like it much because it's hard to even get wet as everyone fights for a fountain. We'll just stay in our own backyard. The one thing about spending the day swimming - the girls are in bed, ASLEEP before 7p every night. AHHH... It completely wears them out!
Hope everyone is enjoying their summer!

When we got home from the spray park, AnLi jumped into the pool, came out and yelled, "Now THIS is what I'm talkin' about!" LOL!

AnLi was having Carli say "abracadabra" before she would let her up the ladder. Stinker! Carli got it and then kept saying it ALL night.

Water, water everywhere!

The pool is up and cold! The girls still swim in it just about every day, coming out with blue lips and shivering. They warm up and then get back in. So there will be lots and lots of swim pictures this summer. :)

AnLi didn't think this day would ever come - filling the pool. She has asked for months when we were going to put up the "blue pool". She never stopped smiling and kept saying, "I LOVE THIS POOL!" the whole night it was filling.

The water park - Carli really didn't want to get wet, but soon would dip her foot in, then her finger, and finally wrapped a towel around her and went through the rainbow sprinkler. So funny!

Preschool Fun

We went to the carnival at Carli's school and the girls had a blast. They played lots and lots of games, danced, and had quite an array of bouncers/slides to partake in.

This is how these two usually stand - arms around each other. I think it's so sweet!

As soon as AnLi realized I was taking a picture of their innocent moment, she went straight into "pose mode."
And no matter how many times I move that headband back and to the side, she will move it right to the center of her forehead. I give up!

After the Wonderwalk each child got a balloon. As we were walking into the house, AnLi stopped and said, I want to send this up to Molli. (Molli is our dog we had to put to sleep about a year and a half ago. AnLi talks about Molli quite often.) She gave the balloon a kiss and let it go. Then she blew a kiss and said, "I love you, Molli." Of course, I started tearing up! So sweet!

Busy Week

Preschool is winding down, which means there are lots of extra things scheduled for the next few weeks. Ice skating lessons ended this week. I'm sure we'll try to hit the ice a few times this summer. It will be a nice break from the hot July days. :)

Carli got a new 'do, which she LOVES! She kept saying, I boo-e-ful!
Yes, you are, sweetie!! We got those layers cleaned up. I thought she might be upset, but she did really well and couldn't wait to show anybody and everybody her new haircut.

Mother/Daughter Tea at AnLi's preschool was Wednesday. They made us crowns that said "Best Mom" and bouquets they had painted, put on a show, and we had cookies and iced tea. AnLi has been VERY excited about this day. She sang her little heart out and even gave a bow at the end of her performance. It was a moment to melt a mommy's heart!

Tomorrow is the March of Dimes walk at a retirement home AnLi's preschool goes to regulary to do crafts. Tomorrow night is the carnival at Carli's preschool. Lots of fun ahead!

I'm still poring through WDW photos. Three of the six disposable cameras didn't come out. The girls have been very busy playing dress-up and putting on "shows" for us this week.
